Technical Writing Samples

At Baylor, one of my courses taught me how to write in a technical environment. Documented assignments included analysis reports, user guides, and technical reports. The following document was an assignment that exemplified my ability to be thorough in the explanation of how a device operates, piece by piece. Preceding is an explanation of  the document's content.

The following technical description is of a First Generation iPod Nano. The document serves as a detailed explanation of the iPod Nano's individual parts: what they are, what they do, and how they help the iPod Nano to function. A document such as this would benefit Apple employees or interested customers.

During my 2 years and 6 months with Pinnacle: A Halliburton Service, I reviewed and edited over 50 microseismic (MSM) and micordeformation (MDM) reports, or wrote these same fracture mapping reports from scratch based on the analytical data provided by the project managers. I also reviewed three procedure reports for in-field use and an SPE Paper that was to be presented at an oil and gas convention. My objective with these assignments was to inspire and fortify client relations and represent Pinnacle in a professional manner. However, per the request of my former manager at Pinnacle, none of my written work from my time with this employer is available on this online portfolio, due to client confidentiality and Halliburton-exclusive writing styles. To see examples of my written work with this company, with the details fabricated to protect client relations, I will gladly present said work in my hard copy portfolio at an interview. Thank you.
